Nainesh Kotak is recognized as one of Canada’s leading long-term disability lawyers, consistently featured in the Canadian Lexpert Directory for the past three years. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1994 and the Alberta Bar in 2022, he brings more than three decades of litigation experience, having appeared in jury and non-jury trials before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Federal Court (Trial Division), and numerous administrative tribunals.
Nainesh’s practice focuses heavily on long-term disability claims involving depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. A trusted voice on injury and disability law, he appears frequently on television and radio to comment on legal issues affecting Canadians.
Deeply committed to community service, Nainesh has long supported military, veteran, and mental-health organizations, including Wounded Warriors Canada, Boots on the Ground, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and Every Mind Mental Health Services—where he currently serves as President of the Board. He has organized major appreciation events for troops, veterans, and first responders, including the Kotak Law Military Appreciation Day and the Salute to Services Game with the Brampton Honey Badgers.
Within the legal profession, Nainesh has served as Chair of the Long-Term Disability Section of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) from 2021–2024 and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer on OTLA’s Board of Directors. He chaired the working group that led to the creation of OTLA’s Diversity and Inclusion Caucus and continues to lead educational programming for lawyers across the province.
Nainesh also has served on the Sheridan College Paralegal Advisory Committee and is a member of the Justice of the Peace Appointment Advisory Committee for the Central/West region of Ontario.
